The Harvard Debate Council Summer Workshops (hereinafter, the Workshops) use video and audio recordings of students’ speeches for use in instruction. Many of these recordings are made available exclusively to parents of the individual students through password-protected accounts. In addition, photographs of students involved in Workshop activities are posted to certain social media to which all the students and their parents have access.
The instructional program at the Workshops frequently requires email communication between instructors and students for purposes such as distributing schedules, sharing research assignments, and providing feedback. Most of these communications will be shared with large groups of students, but in the case of feedback on individual performances, email communication may be private. All communications between our staff and the students will be limited to curricular matters.
We hereby consent to the recordings and email communications described above.
